Week 1 of the NFL season is here, and it has already seemed to have exceeded fans expectations. The first game of the year had Tom Brady and the Buccaneers beat out Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in a 31-29 thriller. But with the defending champions already taking the field, people seemed to have forgotten another matchup key to watch for... Titans vs Cardinals.
Two of the more high-powered offenses on paper battle it out for Game 1. The Titans are coming off an AFC championship loss to the Chiefs last year and are looking to put the NFL on notice. HC Mike Vrabel, has completely transformed this team from regular season duds to being a consistent threat in the AFC. They've also made some big moves in free agency, adding former Falcons standout Julio Jones to Ryan Tannehill's arsenal of targets. With AJ Brown and Derrick Henry having already establish themselves as top tier talent, Jones just makes Tennessee that much more of a threat. With the addition for Jones, it could provide more opportunities for players like Henry to power through. It'll be interesting to see how this trio works for Tannehill against an exploitable Cardinals secondary.
As for Arizona, expectations are relatively high for Kyler Murray. The Oklahoma Sooner alum has some big targets to throw to including DeAndre Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and AJ Green. Not to mention the tandem of Chase Edmonds and James Connor in the backfield. The talent is clearly there for the youngster and this is the year for him to show he is capable of being a winning QB. Kyler has the arm and deep threats to throw the ball down the field, lets see what big plays he has in store.
Regardless, both teams are hungry and certainly have explosive talent within their offenses to entertain fans week 1.
Prediction: TEN, 33-28.
Player of Game: Derrick Henry, 110 yards & 2 TD's
