EP #21: Jomboy Media Podcast Review By Clay Horowitz

Credit: Jomboy Twitter

In episode #21 of Wildchat Sports, Andrew Gardner chats with the incredible Jimmy O’brien aka Jomboy media. As a Yankees fan, I have personally been watching Jomboy’s content on Talkin’ Yanks for three or four years, but what started as a Yankees page only, has grown to be so much more.

Jomboy talks about the early years, starting it as a hobby just tweeting about the Yankees. To then creating a website with recap blogs and selfie videos after every Yankees game. After reaching 1000 followers, he decided to do a Q&A on Youtube, and just like that, episode one of Talkin’ Yanks was born. He speaks on bringing in his friend Jake, teaching himself how to edit videos and make GIFs, bringing in more writers, making a merch store, and Jomboy Corp growing from there. By 2019 he was doing this fulltime, doing Talkin’ Yankes four times a week, Laughs From the Past, and adding Talkin’ Baseball. Jomboy tells us what it was like to go viral for his classic “Savages in the box” and “Astros cheating scandal” videos, and really becoming a well-known name from those. He was even thanked by Ken Rosenthal, as well as many players for showing the public how obvious the Astros cheating really was. Jomboy has made quite a name for himself, and is only getting bigger from here.
