Packers Look to be the Best Team in the NFC By Hunter Kuffel
The Green Bay Packers took on the Tennessee Titans at snowy Lambeau Field in a game that the Packers needed to win to show that they were real competitors in the NFC. With the Rams losing to Seattle, Green Bay knew that they could not clinch the one side no matter the outcome of the game. This did not deter the Packers from playing arguably their best sixty minutes of football this season. In a game where everyone thought that Derrick would run all over the Packers defense, they were able to hold him to 23 carries and only 98 yards. It was Henry’s sixth lowest yards in a game this season. Ryan Tannehill has also been having a career year this season was also held to one of his worst game this year. Throwing 11 for 24 with 121 yards, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. The Packers defense came to play and knew that this game would define if they were contenders or frauds.
The Packers offense again looked to be the best offense in football, led by the front-runner for MVP in Aaron Rodgers, the Packers offense put up forty points for the fourth time this season. Davante Adams had another career game, hauling in 11 receptions for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bringing his touchdown total to 17 this season. He also became the third player in NFL history to have 100 plus receptions and 16 plus touchdowns in a season. The Packers offense was not only rolling through the air, the ground game was nearly unstoppable also. Aaron Jones had another big game with 10 carries and 94 yards. But the story of the game was rookie AJ Dillon. With Jamaal Williams out for the game with a quad injury, AJ Dillon took over. Getting 21 carries for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns. It looked like the future of running back for the Green Bay Packers was found with the sixty second pick of the 2020 draft.
The Packers were not able to get any help from the Rams against Seahawks in claiming the number one seed in the NFC this week, but next week the Packers take on a Bears team looking to get a win so that they are able to get the seventh spot in the playoffs this year. If the Packers can win on Sunday, they will get the only bye in the playoffs and have an extra week of rest and preparation to be able to succeed in the playoffs and make a deep run in the playoffs and compete for a Super Bowl.
