Harden Making a Difference in Philly By Shaun Petipas

For the Philly 76ers and James Harden it seems like this was a match made in heaven and it was bound to be. With Joel Embiid leading the team and Harden playing a smaller roll this is a situation that could work longterm.

Embiid has seen a rotation of players come through Philly to see if any of them could help him get over the hump in the eastern conference but this player is very different. Harden is an MVP calibre player who can help spread the floor for Embiid and can also help with his playmaking ability. It was clear from his home debut that Philly fans were already in love with him. Some reporters out of Philly are saying it is the loudest they have heard that arena in a long time, if ever. Harden made sure he put good use to the primetime cameras as he lit up Knicks for 26 points 9 assists and 9 rebounds. He almost put up a triple double in his first home game with the 76ers and after the game Harden had this to say to ESPN, "It was like a movie (out on the court)".

Could this be the player Embiid has been waiting for? The 27 y/o center is one of the best players in the league and is the odds on favorite to win MVP at them moment. I'm sure Philly and Embiid had their worries about Harden after he couldn't make it work in Brooklyn with two superstars he wanted to play with. Harden who is 32 years old is still looking for that first ring and could have a great opportunity to win it in Philly.
