Morgan Freeman Takes Over World Cup Opening Ceremony

On Sunday, the opening ceremony for the 2022 FIFA World Cup took place at Al Bayt Stadium. In front of 60,000 spectators, Jung Kook of the K-Pop supergroup BTS opened the event on Sunday. Morgan Freeman, an American actor, was one of the non-musical performers. The 85-year-old provided live narration of the occasion and spoke on the "emotions that unite us all now." The opening ceremony began 90 minutes before the tournament's first game, between hosts Qatar and Ecuador.
